Villa D’Este will host some Vintage Ferraris, some of them belonging to actors, Steve McQueen and Marcello Mastroianni, as well as a Jaguar of movie star Clark Gable during the so-called Villa d’Este Concours d’Elegance in Cernobbio, northern Italy.

The 40th edition of the historic auto show will take place from May 20-22 and this year’s theme is “Back to the future: the journey continues”. Last year the Touring-bodied 1950 166 MM in question dominated the scene: the first owner was Gianni Agnelli, who got it in July 1950 and sold it two years later to Belgian Viscount Gery d’Hendecourt.

Two displays at the event are dedicated to organisers BMW: “Hommage Vehicles” will celebrate the 100th anniversary of the German carmaker, while “80 Years ago – BMW R5. The new Sporting Image” is focused on the car that represented a turning point in the company’s history.
