Orange County Italian Americans will bring their skill and focus for a spring evening of friendly competition transforming a beautifully manicured croquet course into a bocce ball court.  The Mediterranean inspired Marbella Country Club located in the rolling hills of San Juan Capistrano will host the bocce ball tournament on Thursday, May 8th.  The evening will include a delicious Italian buffet dinner, wine tasting, and no host bar.

San Juan Capistrano’s Mayor, Sam Allevato, is judging the bocce ball tournament.  Teams of two will be paired for nine point games.  Four games will run simultaneously.  Prizes will be awarded to first, second and third place winners with the first place winners invited back August 15, 2014 to defend their title at the Ferragosto Tournament.

Keeping with the Italian theme, 2014 Cinquecento and Maserati cars will be on display adjacent to the bocce ball course. The cars are being rolled out by the recently opened South County Maserati at Mission Viejo.

Chef Robert Opelle is creating a delicious Italian buffet beginning with an antipasto display followed by salad, grilled vegetables, tortellini, meatballs, sliced sausage and garlic bread. Wine tasting will feature Rio Maggio wines. There will be a no-host bar open from 5:00pm until closing. Tickets are $30 per person including tax & tip.  Tickets are going fast so RSVP now!  Tickets can be purchased and bocce ball sign ups can be made online at: https://www.eventbrite.com/e/aperitivo-evening-bocce-ball-tournament-tickets-11244900801.

The Aperitivo Evening and Bocce Ball Tournament is being held in coordination with the San Juan Capistrano Sister City program with Capestrano, Italy.
