Puglia is the top regions with the happiest beaches to visit this upcoming summer. The index of happiness has been monitored by analysts at Voices from the Blogs, which analyzes what happens in the Social Media world.
 
With a score of 69 points, Lecce leads the ranking as best place. The capital of Salento area is only 25 miles away from the Adriatic coast and 50 miles from the Ionian. Otranto with its Baia dei Turchi and Santa Maria di Leuca are popular worldwide, while the town of Melendugno guards jewelry as Torre Specchia, Bear Tower (with stacks twins “The Two Sisters”) and Torre Sant ‘Andrea. On the Ionian coast, however, the dunes of Porto Cesareo (with the famous Punta Prosciutto) and the beach of Pescoluse, nicknamed “the Maldives of Salento”. Lecce was out of the rankings in 2013, while he was in 9th place in 2012.
 
Second place for Genoa: everyone knows the beach of Paraggi in Portofino, the bay of San Fruttuoso and Camogli seafront. But other places not to be missed in the surrounding area of Genoa are the beach of Lavagna and especially the Bay of Fables and the nearby Bay of Silence in Sestri Levante. Genoa was in 5th place in 2013, 14th in 2012.
 
Another location in Puglia is in the special podium for the happiest beaches: Bari got a score of 68.6. The capital of Puglia is one of ten cities of Italy. It overlooks the Adriatic Sea and boasts famous seaside towns of Monopoli and Polignano a Mare, with its characteristic bay Lama Monachile (ph: Getty Images). Bari was 8th place in 2013, off the charts in 2012.
