Parmiggiano Reggiano Exports on the Rise

The numbers of exports of Parmigiano Reggiano cheese has risen of 13.2% last year, the biggest rise in a decade, the Parmigiano Reggiano consortium. The report said the rise had been achieved despite the “continued problem” of foreign imitations of the famous Italian cheese.
 
Exports to the US grew by 34 per cent, making it the second biggest foreign market for the sector after France. Double digit growth was also recorded in The Netherlands (20 per cent), Spain (18 per cent), and Greece (15 per cent).
