Every two years Genoa hosts the Pesto World Championship. Hundred competitors from all over the world will prepare Genovese Pesto exclusively with a pestleand mortar, using only traditional, authentic and genuine ingredients. The competition is open to everyone: professionals and amateur cooks.
 
Alfonsina Trucco was the Queen of the Pesto Championship in 2014.There are two aspiring teen cook: the challenge will involve 22 foreigners, from New Zealand, Honolulu, Japan, Togo, United States, Czech Republic, Lebanon, Uruguay, Albania, Japan, the Philippines, Spain, Sri Lanka, Ecuador and other countries around the world. 59% are men and women at 41%, to an average age of 48 years
