Starting April 23, Royal Palace in Monza will host an exhibition dedicated to Italy, which is celebrated through works of art by Canova, Michelangelo but also Dalì and Andy Warhol. Here’s more.
As, through the centuries, Italy has always been one of the favorite destinations for aristocrats and intellectuals from all over the Europe and from the nineteenth century also for those coming from the New World, everybody fell in love with monuments and works of arts as well as the Mediterranean landscape, weather, traditions and its unique atmosphere.
This year the Villa Reale in Monza celebrates Italy with “Italia: Fascino e mito. Dal Cinquecento al contemporaneo”, aiming to celebrate Italy on the occasion of EXPO 2015. The project focuses on the way Italy has been interpreted and celebrated during the centuries by the most illustrious artists all over the world, who have paid homage to its landscape, architecture and culture. Visitors will have the chance to admire masterpieces not only by Rubens, Ingres, Anton Van Dyck and Jean-Louis Gérome, but also those by Botticelli, Correggio, Michelangelo, Tiziano and Canova.
