Since January 2016, Mantua has been the Capital of Culture and has registered a 20% increase in number of tourism compared to the same time last year.
The Italian association Federalberghi reported a 20.47% increase in the number of arrivals and a 25.68% hike in the presence of tourists. The increase has brought in reported earnings worth 421,345 euros, considering that the average cost of a double room in the area is 85 euros, the organization said.
