The Italian website Immobiliare.it has announced a list with twenty small towns which are not only the most attractive but also the most expensive to buy a house.

The lead in this ranking is taken by places close to the seaside, in particular those of the Cinque Terre and the Amalfi Coast, close to 6,000 euros ($7,000) per square meter. Two places are in Liguria: Vernazza, where in April 2015 buying a residential property 80 square meters big required an average of 510,720 euros, and Laigueglia where to buy one of the famous “pink houses” you will need 472,880 euro.

The cheapest places are in Tuscany and Trentino-Alto Adige with the towns of Buonconvento and Klausen where they cost respectively 2,623 and 2,680 per square meter.
