If you are traveling to Venice these days, you will notice something different in the Canal Grande: two giant hands are sticking out of the water and they seem to be grabbing Ca’ Sagredo. The hands, between 24 and 27 feet tall, have been designed and realized by Lorenzo Quinn, a world renowned sculptor who has Venetian origins. “Hands are tools that can either destroy or save the world” reads the plaque of the installation.
The hands will remain in place until November 26 and are part, together with many other works around Venice, of the famous Biennale di Venezia.
