The event will begin with a 1 p.m. social hour which will be held on a private outdoor terrace with Rosario performing many Italian favorites.
At 2 p.m. the event moves to a private dining room where a sumptuous buffet will be offered along with a selection of fine Italian wines. Rosario will be singing such favorites as: Bianco Natale, Gesu’ Bambino, Tu scendi dalle Stelle, Mamma and Torna a Surriento and many more.
The Patrons presented Monetti to the Los Angeles community at the Gala Opera event held in St. Peter’s Church to celebrate the 150th. Anniversary of the Republic. Noted members of the L.A. Opera were in attendance along with more than 100 guests. Born in Naples, Italy in 1967, he is one of three children and at the age of 16 he began singing Italian Folk music. At 20 Rosario performed widely in Naples. 1995 saw Rosario attending the acclaimed School of High Vocal Improvement, under the watchful eye of tenor Marcello Ferraresi.
It was Ferraresi who guided him into studying Classical music. Monetti then studied under Soprano A. Lepore, at the Conservatory San Pietro a Majella. In 1999 he became a member of the ‘chorus acapella’ Exultate Deo, under the Master of the Choir – Conservatory of Cagliari, countertenor Davide Troja. After performing throughout Europe, he traveled back to Rome where he performed in Tosca by Puccini.
In August 2009, Rosario settled in San Diego and his reputation spread rapidly. He performed at many prestigious venues, including the Marriott and Ritz Carlton hotels. Monetti also performs extensively for many San Diego Italian-American organizations. We are thrilled that Rosario has accepted our invitation notes Romano, and look forward to an amazing afternoon and hearing his incredible voice once again.
