Thousands turned out over four days to celebrate the 1st annual San Gennaro Feast in San Diego held in honor of Saint Gennaro.
 
The festival featured a wide variety of ethnic food vendors, live national acts on the main stage starring Tony Sacca with the Saccettes, Dick Contino, Lena Prima (daughter of Louis Prima), Donny Edwards tribute to Elvis, Philly Cuzz, locals Rosario Monetti and James Bianchi, Ciro Giorgio, Aaron Caruso, Amanda Kaiser and many more who performed hourly while there were amusement rides and game fun for the whole family.
 
Event organizer Anthony Palmisano explains, “The San Gennaro Feast is an age-old tradition and I want to keep the Italian culture going wherever I hold my events. In Lower Manhattan, the place of the original San Gennaro Feast, is an event that attracts more than three million people of all ages, races and nationalities who enjoy Italian food and music.” 
 
Classic Italian-American staples were served such as Italian Sausage and Peppers, Stuffed Artichokes, Philly Cheese Steak Sandwich, Italian Fried Dough, Funnel Cakes, Fried Calamari, Linguine and Clams, Shrimp Scampi, Scungilli Salad, Cannoli and Zeppole.  Italian food was not the only flavor enticing visitors to the fair, American Barbecue, corn on the cob, cotton candy, candy apples and other delights were also available.
