Italian Maestro Riccardo Muti will return to Milan’s La Scala Opera House next year in January when he will be conducting the Chicago Symphony in two different shows.
This is gonna be the first time that Muti returns to La Scala to conduct after he quit as musical director in 2005. He will also be at the Opera House next June for the opening of an exhibition about him celebrating his 75th birthday. Muti was musical director for 19 years before the break in relations.
“Now we are talking about new projects and we hope that in the future he will come here to conduct an opera,” a spokesman for La Scala said.
