Rio 2016: Elia Viviani (Men's Omnium) Get Gold, Rachele Bruni (10 Km Marathon Swim) Goes Silver
Elia Viviani in tears after today's win

Italy’s Elia Viviani was able to go into the final event with the omnium lead and he held it throughout the points race to win the gold medal after he survived a mid-crash caused by Mark Cavendish.

Rachele Bruni got the silver medal for the 10km Marathon swim after a complicated event: the French athlete, Aurelie Muller, was stripped of her silver medal after it was determined that she obstructed an opponent. Officials said that as she and Rachele Bruni of Italy reached for the finish line, Muller pushed the Italian under the water, preventing her from completing the race. After the decision, Bruni was elevated to the silver medal and Brazil’s Poliana Okimoto was given the bronze.
