The Italian bank company, Intesa SanPaolo, hosts at its pavilion at Expo in Milan a tribute to San Daniele ham with a programme of music, readings and song dedicated to the trademark Made in Italy product.
Participants include writer and puzzle maker Stefano Bartezzaghi, cabaret performer Leonardo Manera, actor and director Andrea Collavino and singer-songwriter and stage actor Piero Sidoti.
Perfume maker Lorenzo Dante Ferro also described the changes in the smell of San Daniele during the various stages of production.
Prosciutto di San Daniele is produced only in the Friuli Venezia Giulia region, in the hilly area around the town of San Daniele in the province of Udine. With its guitar-like shape, it is made solely of the meat of pigs born and bred in Italy and sea salt. It is a natural food product with no additives or preservatives of any kind. Its high nutritional value and ease of digestion make it suitable for any type of diet.
