Pompeii is now giving tourists a new way to visit the archaeological site, by introducing an “entrance/exit bracelet”: the electronic device is not only made of special paper but it also allows visitors to enter the site up to three times on the same day.

The bracelets can be purchases at the site ticket office, where a special reader has been installed in order to activate them: the idea is to give visitors a chance to enjoy the site at different times of the day, including walks around the areas, shopping, lunch, or sightseeing. Once the visitor has accessed the site three times, the bracelet deactivates, and it is no longer active the following day.

The main goal of this innovation is to help the local tourist economy in the town of Pompeii.
