The Peninsula Social Club Foundation of San Mateo once again awarded scholarships to graduating high school Seniors of Italian heritage that achieved academic excellence, showed leadership qualities, served the community and were proud to be Italian descents.

The Foundation is a tax exempt non profit organization whose sole purpose is to rise funds in order to support their scholarship program. This year with the help of the Peter and Paula Uccelli Foundation, the Stephen Sanguinetti family and the many members of the Peninsula Italian American Social Club, the Foundation was able to offer scholarships to the following graduates.

Courtney Andreini from Half Moon Bay (Half Moon Bay High), Nicholas Andrighetto from Redwood City (Woodside High), Benjamin Bachman from Lafayette (Acalanes High), Giuliana Battaglini from Redondo Beach (Notre Dame Academy), Carley Bertolozzi from Belmont (Carlmont High), Matthew Boland from Redwood City (Serra), Nicholas Cassin from San Mateo (Hillsdale High), Emily Dadalto from Normandy Park, Washington (Seattle Christian), Devin Furrer from Redwood City (Serra), Alyssa Hansen from San Mateo (Hillsdale High), Rachael Mc Vicar from El Dorado Hills (Oakridge High), Kyle Kerrigan from Burlingame (Serra), Paul Murray from San Bruno (Serra), Lorenzo Nunziati from Rancho Palos Verdes (Palos Verdes Peninsula High), Haley Smith from San Carlos (Carlmont High), Giancarlo Tarantino from Santa Rosa (Cardinal Newman), Erica Valbusa from San Mateo (Carlmont High), Victoria Vallecorse from South San Francisco (St. Ignatius).

All scholarship recipients were invited to attend the Peninsula Italian American Social Clubs June Membership meeting in order to be introduced to club members. Each recipient was presented a certificate acknowledging their achievement and given the opportunity to thank the membership for their support.

It was wonderful meeting all of the scholarship winners and their families. This was a special group and both the foundation and the P.I.A.S.C. membership should be proud to be able to have helped support them in their quest for future achievements.
