FAI –  the National Trust for Italy – is opening some special properties for the occasion of Pasquetta, the Easter Monday holiday in Italy.  This great celebration on the day after EasterSunday in Italy is synonymous with getting closer to nature, with outdoor fun, picnics, games for adults and children, and lots of culture. Building on the great success of pastcelebrations, the FAI is promoting some Pasquetta initiatives on Monday, April 17.  They will open several of their properties for the traditional holiday picnics.

Here is a list of the sites that will be open:

Monastery of Torba in Gornate Olona (VA), at Villa Della Porta Bozzolo in Casalzuigno (VA), Villa Panza in Varese, at Avio Castle Sabbionara Avio (TN), the Garden of Kolymbethra in the Valley of the Temples in Agrigento, Castello della Manta Manta (CN), Castello di Masino in Caravino (TO), Villa dei Vescovi at Luvigliano of Torreglia (PD), Parco Villa Gregoriana at Tivoli (RM) and Bosco di San Francesco in Assisi (PG).

In Assisi(PG), for example, at the FAI Pasquetta celebration in the Bosco di San Francesco, the festivities include a guided tour with the director of the forest and the students of ApprendistiCiceroni” will accompany the kids on an egg hunt complete with Easter bunnies. Later in the day there will be a spring open-air concert in the Terzo Paradiso (Third Heaven) clearing with the ability to picnic in the surrounding meadow area.

Come celebrate Pasquetta with the FAI!
