Five days at the UN celebrating the excellence of Italian food
Italian food will be prepared by famous chefs
The Permanent Mission of Italy to the United Nations is hosting in these days the “Italian Food Festival” at the Delegates Dining Room of the UN.
 
This is an opportunity to launch a better promotion of the Italian food culture while we celebrate Italy’s 60 years at the United Nations.
 
The “Italian Food Festival” offers a fine selection of food and drink through a culinary high quality proposed by 5 renowned Italian chef (including primarily the Sicilian Filippo La Mantia, then Sonia Balacchi and Michele Biagiola) selected from Italia di Gusto – the franchise company specializes in the selection of fine Italian food – that the Permanent Mission of Italy to the United Nations has called to treat the event. In the five days of the Festival the UN delegates, guests and journalists will have the opportunity to discover and enjoy food and beverages representing the highest expression of the culinary cultures and the specificities of the individual Italian regions, the result of traditions and customs that have been handed down years, from generation to generation.
 
The Italian culinary culture, which incorporates and complements the Mediterranean diet, that diet-oriented health and wellness become a World Heritage Site in 2010, fits perfectly with the objectives of the UN of a healthy and sustainable, also set out in Charter of Milan, presented at EXPO Milano 2015 and delivered to the UN Secretary General during the World Food Day.
