The Fondo Ambiente Italiano (FAI) held an event called the FAI Marathon on Sunday October 18th. The event is a unique kind of ‘cultural marathon’ to be experienced by the participant as a self-guided tour of discovery of the sights in Italy. It is a non-competitive event open to anyone who is interested and who would like to sign up.
There have been more than 500 venues open in 125 cities all across Italy the day of the event. The program involved 3,500 volunteers and is part of the “Ricordiamoci di salvare l’Italia” (Let’s remember to save Italy) campaign. The FAI Giovani, the FAI youth organization, organizing and participating in the event. For example, the referees of events at the local level are the FAI Giovani members of their delegations.
