Italy to keep events under tight security
The Vatican is considered a sensitive location
Not only the Jubilee, but also all the soccer games and the concerts will be put under thight following the bloody attacks in Paris.
 
Rome, the Italian capital, will host many events for this last part of the year, for this reason there will be an extreme effort to keep everybody safe. At the top of the list December 8th, when the Holy Door of the Saint Peter Basilica will be opened in order for the the Holy Year to kick off. 
 
On December 13, it will be the time of the Holy Door of St. John Lateran Basilica as well as that of St Paul’s outside the Walls.
   
On December 20, the Children’s Jubilee of the Roman oratories will be celebrated and on December 27the the Family’s Jubilee. On January 1, the World Day of Peace and the opening of the Holy Door of St Mary Major will be important events to keep an eye on.
   
Concerts and other events with large crowds also are considered vulnerable. In the Valle d’Aosta region, the opening of the skiing season and the Christmas markets as well as New Year’s Eve at Courmayeur are considered events at risk.
