America’s Homecoming Queen competition to promote education

America’s Homecoming Queen, a Tennessee non-profit corporation, has been promoting education and community service for high school homecoming queens since 1981. Girls from the fifty U.S. states can participate, but upon invitation only.

This is in fact a very selective competition that gives young women, who have shown outstanding leadership ability, the opportunity to achieve their dreams and goals of being our leaders of tomorrow; the Foundation gives each state winner a trip to the National Selection and a scholarship, which will be used by the girls to continue their studies after graduating from high school.

Italian Gianella Ghiglino, 17 years old, will be competing in the 33rd annual America’s Homecoming Queen for the State of California. On April 7th, she will have the chance to win a $10,000 scholarship to be used for her studies. “I believe that women should always wear their invisible crown,” she says, “because we are all amazing and are capable of doing anything.”

We wish Gianella best of luck in realizing her dreams!
