American company based in San Francisco, Airbnb, has just released a listing of the most desirable houses rented by its costumers. Many travelers look to book rentals outside of the typical hotel and they prefer to have more untraditional temporary accomodation, like treehouses, igloos, yurts, and lighthouses.

Among the top nine, there are three Italian listings which are very unique:

Number 9 is a modern loft in the heart of Rome. The tiny and cheap rental option is located in the heart of the historic area of Saint John for only $41/night, close to the Colosseum, the Basilica of St. John, the Lateran Palace, the Scala Santa, and more major Italian points of interest.

Number 5 is the famous Aroma(n)tica Treehouse in San Salvatore Monferrato. It offers sweeping pastoral views, easy access to wine country, and beautiful rustic decor.

Number 3 is a  TREEhouse inside the Tuscan landscape, twenty minutes from the Duomo and just an hour away from Siena. The countryside location sits among gorgeous olive and cypress trees, but still allows easy access to Florence.
