The project, conceived and produced by the ensemble’s founder and president Marco Patrignani, is part of the celebrations of 2013 – Year of the Italian Culture in the United States, with the high patronage of President of the Italian Republic Giorgio Napolitano.

In 2013, the ensemble recorded “Allegretto Made in Italy”, the official soundtrack of the Year of Italian Culture in the United States, which was composed, orchestrated, and conducted by Nicola Piovani.
On December 8, 2013, the Orchestra Italiana del Cinema will be awarded the “Guirlande D’Honneur 2013”, the highest honor bestowed by the Fédération Internationale Cinéma Télévision Sportifs.
