Amuri. The Sacred flavors of Sicily – July 19, 2016, Italian Cultural Institute, Los Angeles
In anticipation of the 1st Week of Italian Cuisine in the World, a projection of the documentary Amuri. Sacred flavors of Sicily (2014, 37 min), written by Fabrizia Tasca Lanza, noted chef and owner of the prestigious cooking school. Tasca Lanza introduced the documentary and held a special interactive Sicilian wine and cooking class with wines she produced featuring traditional recipes, with the goal of illustrating the culture and flavors of the Sicilian countryside. During the event, the 1st Week of Italian Cuisine in the World was officially announced. Organized by the Italian Cultural Institute, Los Angeles; in collaboration with Lingua Viva. 

First Italian Cuisine in the Word Week at WestEdge Design Fair  – November 5 and 6 2016, Barker Hangar, Santa Monica, California

The IACCW launches the First Italian Cuisine in the Word Week at WestEdge, the leading contemporary design fair in the US through a lineup of chef’s live demos highlighting the extraordinary Italian culinary heritage. Demos will take place at WestEdge, within the Fisher & Paykal Culinary Pavilion on Saturday, November 5th and Sunday, November 6th. The Nutrition Link between Genetics and Health – November 10, 2016, Italian Cultural Institute,  LA
Conference held by Paolo Sassone Corsi (Director for the Center for Epigenetics and Metabolism, UC Irvine School of Medicine) and Vito Campese (MD, Prof Medicine, Physiology, Biophysics, Keck School of Medicine, USC and President ISSNAF) with the goal of analyzing the impact of diet on our lives and examining new research and the most discussed theories of the past several years. A virtual tour of the most beautiful Italian villages, which the American public shows increasing interest in discovering through lesser known cultural traditions, enology and gastronomy. A tasting of local recipes inspired by the traditions of the villages presented to follow. Organized by The National Tourism Board of Italy, in collaboration with the Association Borghi più Belli d’Italia, the Italian Cultural Institute and the Consulate General of Italy in Los Angeles. 

Stefano Guindani: Recipes and Portraits of Actors on the occasion of Cinema Italian Style 2016

In occasion of the opening of Cinema Italian Style 2016, the official launch of the 1st Week of Italian Cuisine in the World. Recipes and Portraits of Actors by Stefano Guindani will be inaugurated. The exhibition depicts the Italian cinema celebrities preparing the recipes that represent them the most. The photographer Stefano Guindani and the Italian delegation of Cinema Italian Style and the Minister of Cultural Heritage will be in attendance. Organized by the Istituto Luce Cinecitta’, RAI Cinema and the IIC Los Angeles, in collaboration with the Italian Trade Agency and the American Cinematheque, under the auspices of the Consulate General of Italy in Los Angeles. With the support of the Italian Heritage Culture Foundation.

Italian Restaurant Week  – November 16- 23, 2016 – various local Italian restaurants

On the occasion of the First Italian Cuisine in the World Week and the return of Cinema Italian Style, the premier annual Italian film showcase in Los Angeles, a selection of authentic Italian restaurants celebrates the Italian culinary and cinematographic heritage through special film-inspired menus.  Organized by: Italy-America Chamber of Commerce West and Accademia Italiana della Cucina

Italian gourmet food products and denominations Masterclasses  – November 18, 2016, Le Cordon Bleu in Pasadena and Culina Restaurant in Beverly Hills 

In collaboration with the Art Institute of California (Culinary Program) and The Cordon Bleu, within the Extraordinary Italian Taste educational initiatives, the Italy-America Chamber of Commerce West organizes two culinary Masterclasses focusing on Italian gourmet food products protected by designation of origin. Eating Healthy & Italian Series: Italian Gluten-free  – November 19, 2016, Italian Cultural Institute, Los Angeles
A meeting dedicated to a gluten-free diet with expert nutritionists and managers of the company CaliFoodItalia including a tasting of gluten-free products made in Italy by CaliFoodItalia. The event is part of the series Eating Healthy & Italian organized by the Institute. Organized by the Italian Cultural Institute – Los Angeles and Lingua Viva; in collaboration with CaliFoodItalia. 

Marinara sauce…is not Italian! – November 21 and 23, 2016, Leaps’n’Boundz Foundation
A cooking workshop organized by the IIC and the Piccolo Chef Foundation at the Leaps’n’Boundz Foundation, which supports children and young adults with Down syndrome. The lessons will be given by Chef Gino Campagna, co-founder of Piccolo Chef and regular guest on the reality show Born This Way, which has been on-air for two seasons on the American channel A&E and has won the prestigious Emmy television award.  The two workshops have the objective of promoting the Mediterranean Diet, the preparation of simple and healthy recipes, authenticity of ingredients and Italian dishes. Cinema Italian Style for the 1st Week of Italian Cuisine in the World  – November 23, 2016, Italian Cultural Institute, Los Angeles
In conjunction with Cinema Italian Style 2016 and in occasion of the 1st Week of the Italian Cuisine in the World, a presentation of short films and documentaries that combine the themes of cinema and cuisine. Food For Thought by Davide Gentile (2016, 15 min), Harry’s Bar by Carlotta Cerquetti (2015, 54 min), and When Italy Ate in Black and White – Cinecittario, by Andrea Gropplero di Troppenburg (2015, 27 min) will be screened. Organized by Istituto Luce Cinecittà and Italian Cultural institute – Los Angeles, in collaboration with the Italian Trade Agency (ICE) and the American Cinematheque, under the auspices of the Consulate General of Italy in Los Angeles. Eating Healthy & Italian Series: Fiber-pasta  – December 10, 2016, Italian Cultural Institute, Los Angeles An interactive cooking class held by an Italian chef, nutrition experts and the managers of the company CaliFoodItalia that will demonstrate how to use FiberPasta products specifically developed by the Italian company for a low sugar diet suitable for diabetics.
