It seems almost impossible to find such peace and quiet so close to Rome, but Bracciano is just that: an oasis of calm just outside the city.
Located only 20 miles northwest of the capital, quaint and charming Bracciano is famous for its lake, bearing the same name, of volcanic origin and the 8th largest in the country, but is also popular for its rich history. The well-preserved castle Orsini-Odescalchi was built in the middle ages and, to this day, hosts many events, including the weddings of the rich and famous.
