According to the Italian News Agency, Russian Andrei Yakunin is investing 150 million euros in the development of the medieval castle of Antognolla in the central Umbria region. The project involves transforming the 560-hectare estate 20 km north of Perugia into an 18-hole golf course and the castle into a five-star hotel.
A complex of 77 luxury villas will be built on the property. The development is being overseen by Four Seasons Hotel & Resort Chain. “The concept behind the development of the Antognolla estate is unique not just for the Italian market but also for the European market as a whole,” Yakunin said in a statement.
