As reported by the British Newspaper, The Guardian, Italy is planning to reduce the number of tourists to the Cinque Terre, a UNESCO world heritage area because the coastal area risks to be wrecked by coach parties and cruise ships.

Last year, almost 2.5 million tourists went to the picturesque park in north-west Italy’s Liguria region to visit the five small fishing villages, which are connected by cliffside trails and residents say now that day-trippers from cruise ships docking at nearby ports have overwhelmed the communities, therefore the head of the Cinque Terre park said no more than 1.5 million visitors would be let in this year.
