Pietro Paolo Rubens’ “Adoration of the Shepherds” is to be displayed in Milan. The altar piece, which is kept in the Civic Picture Gallery of Fermo, will be shown in the Sala Alessi at Palazzo Marino, Milan’s town hall from Dec 3. to Jan. 10.

The masterpiece will be shown with the support of the Intesa Sanpaolo financial group. Giovanni Bazoli, chairman of the Supervisory Council of the group, announced that: “This exhibition has become an essential bond between public and private initiatives. I am very pleased to see that the administration is aware of this fact and such events are now becoming a pattern on its programme. The masterpiece on show in Palazzo Marino offers the opportunity of comparing the Flemish painter with Hayez.”
