293 Italian Beaches Awarded with the National Blue Flag

 The Italian Organization Banderia Blue has just awarded 152 coastal towns, five more than 2015, with the 2016 Blue Flag award for the excellent quality of their sea and beaches.
 
The number of “excellent” beaches has risen from 280 to 293 in the 30th edition of this initiative: in particular, the Liguria region is leading the ranking with 25 places, among which Ceriale and Levanto, followed by Tuscany with 19 locations among which Massa, and Marche with 17.
 
Among the new beaches, not only Levanto e Ceriale, in Liguria, but also Carovigno in Puglia, Silvi in Abruzzo e Badesi, Sassari e Teulada in Sardinia.
