The Osteria Francescana owned by chef Massimo Bottura in the northern city of Modena got the second place in a ranking of the world’s 50 best restaurants. The announcement has been made at a special ceremony in London on Monday night.

The second spot comes for Osteria Francescana after being selected as the third best for two consecutive years. The restaurant is a three-Michelin-starred restaurant and is second only to El Celler de Can Roca in Girona, Spain.

Two other three-Michelin-starred Italian restaurants also featured in the prestigious ranking: chef Enrico Crippa’s Piazza Duomo in Alba (Piedmont), which rose from 39th to 27th place, and Le Calandre in Padua, owned by brothers Massimiliano and Raffaele Alajmo, which rose from 46th to 34th place.
