A Cena restaurant in Portland Oregon, Chef: Gabriele Gabreski

A Cena restaurant in Portland, Oregon embraces the notion that everyone should be able to enjoy fresh, home-made Italian food.   Are you passionate about preparing Italian dishes at home?  Their chef Gabriele is willing to share one of his recipes with you!  They have lovingly prepared a list of recipes to share with intrepid chefs from all backgrounds.

Here is one of his recipes that he shared recently. This one happens to be vegetarian as well!

Carciofi alla Giudia

There’s no telling how old this recipe is—it could conceivably date back to Imperial times, when the Roman Jewish community numbered about 50,000. In any case, Carciofi alla Giudia are a wonderful treat: they look like golden sunflowers and their leaves have a delicious nutty crunchiness. This recipe uses large artichokes. If you can get baby ones, try it. Either way there will be a “hit”. Download recipe here.
